Les lions de Lyon (The Lions from Lyon)

Over the Fall of 2024, I painted 3 works depicting lions that were rescued from an abusive situation in a cramped apartment in Lyon France. Victims of the illegal exotic cat trade, these cubs were rescued by the Born Free Foundation and relocated to Lion’s Rock in South Africa. Video of their progress at their new home provided me with inspiration for the paintings.

I have donated all three of these paintings to be auctioned for the Born Free Foundation at their annual fundraising gala. I have also just loaded them to my website, and created merchandise that is available for purchase. You may find them in my gallery under Big Cats.
